We must confess to have not tried the original Clausthaler for comparison. It looks like a traditional German pilsner, with typical colour, bottle and branding.
"Sweet tasting German pilsner"
It pours heavy and reduces quickly. The taste is sweet; too sweet if you prefer your ales with a bite of bitterness. However, it’s clean and clear, and refreshing when cold. The sweetness has put us off but if you are a fan of this style then try it by all means.
